Post What is FiOS Internet?
Verizon FiOS (FYE?-ose) is the new suite of fiber-optic services over FTTP, an advanced fiber-optic technology that can be used to connect a home or business directly to Verizon?s network.

Fiber-optic systems use strands of glass fiber and laser-generated pulses of light to transmit voice, data and video signals at speeds and capacities far exceeding today?s systems. This new network will have greater reliability and lower maintenance costs. By deploying fiber to homes and businesses around the country, Verizon is reinventing its wireline business.

I believe they use the Dlink. Still waiting for it to get in my area.

The above answer is partially correct. The first people to get hooked up with Fios got Dlink Routers. I believe verizon decided to go with that at first since they had experince with Dlink via their DSL service.

Now the new customers coming aboard are most likely going to have the New Actiontec Router. The packages that you order determine what equipment you get so don't be surprised to get a Dlink if you are a new Customer.

One thing I need to add though is that If you are ordering Both Fios Internet and Fios TV, you will most likely get the new Actiontec MI424WR Broadband Router. This router was specifically built to handle broadband traffic ie Internet, Phone and TV. However I believe Fios standard TV will bypass it. Video on Demand and other TV services that you order using a remote cotrol will probably go through it.
